1 Samuel 3:14-21

Samuel’s first encounter with the Lord was… solemn for its seriousness; fearsome for its finality; awesome in its accurateness; tiresome from its troubling message; lonesome in its liability. Samuel was alone in giving God’s message.

God promised to keep His word of judgement with Eli and upon his sons. Eli tolerated iniquity in the priesthood and would not take action. His house now must be disciplined and judged.
