1 Samuel 16:1-10

After disobeying God’s command to destroy the Amalekites, Saul is notified by Samuel that the Lord has rejected Saul from being king. Saul is allowed to continue to reign for several more years (approximately 14 years), but his descendants will not succeed the throne. God has picked His own king to take Saul’s place. We now begin an exciting adventure into the life of a shepherd boy named David.
