1 Samuel 17:29-37

In the last chapter, we left David at the front line trenches on the battlefield. His father had sent him there to give his brothers provisions and supplies. For forty days, they have been gone. For forty days, nothing has really happened except posturing, yelling, and threatening. There is a lot of talk but not walk. One man, David, hears the threats of Goliath and is about to make a difference. He is about to do something about the problem of Goliath. Why? Why is David so confident?
