1 Samuel 20:4-17

The focus of our last chapter was upon the frailty of our life. David summed it up in these words to Jonathan, “There is but a step between me and death.” David forgot a truth that many of us forget when we are afraid. The truth that God is in charge of our steps.

Our desire as Christians should be that the Lord lead our lives. Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me (Psalms 119:133). If this is our desire and by faith we believe He is leading, then our reasons for fear and worry should be dispelled.
