1 Samuel 31:1-6
While David was enjoying a great victory over the Amalekites that kidnapped his family and friends, Saul was undergoing a terrible defeat by the Philistine army. Chapter 31 closes the curtain on Saul’s life, giving us the record of his final hours to a tragic life and what soon follows after his death.
We will see that everything he feared and tried to prevent came to pass anyway. You and I can’t stop the judgement of God no matter what schemes we devise. Hebrews 9:27 says, “And as it is appointment for men to die once, but after this, the judgement.”
