1 Samuel 2:11-17

As we venture into chapter two, we finish up the details of Hannah’s life and begin to see a contrast between Samuel and the sons of Eli, men known as sons of Belial. A look at their lives reveals the badness of Belial behavior.

Samuel ministered unto the Lord. Because he was Eli’s helper, he was working for the Lord too in the best way he knew how. Your work for the Lord is to be done as unto the Lord, whether it is cleaning, cooking, construction, childcare, singing, or teaching. By serving Eli, Samuel was serving the Lord and doing his chores as unto the Lord.
