1 Samuel 2:1-2

Hannah has left her little boy at the temple now and has gone her way without the pitter patter of little footsteps at her side. They are now a shadow of the past. Little fingers no longer find warmth in her hands as she journeys back to her home. She has kept her vow to God and given her son, her only son, to the Lord for service in God’s work. Her dedication, devotion, and sacrifice moved the heart of God because this is exactly what God was going to do for you and me when He gave His only son, Jesus, to die for our sins.
