A pastor can’t run a church alone. He needs a great team working with him, and Willard Griffin has been blessed with a great one at Ooltewah CoG. From music to audio/video to clerical, our team loves God and loves serving together.
Lead Pastor
When Willard met Sheila in the summer of 1977, he had no idea what God had in store for him. It didn’t take long to realize, however, that she was the love of his life. Just a short time later, they got married and started to build their life together.
In September 1983, Willard became a Christian, and he accepted his call to preach seven years later. Then, in September 1994, he became the pastor of his first church, and Sheila recommitted her life to the Lord.
God has truly blessed Willard and Sheila over their more than 40 years of marriage. He has given them a wonderful daughter, Rachel, who is a registered nurse, a terrific son-in-law, Casey, who owns CB Electric, and two precious grandchildren, Knox and Sloane, who keep them on their toes.
When you see them at church, be sure to ask Willard about his golf game. He’s always ready to chat about that. Some of Sheila’s favorite topics are crafting, antique malls, and, of course, her grandchildren.
