1 Samuel 30:21-31
David and his men have been granted a great victory by the Lord. All but 400 Amalekites are destroyed. They return home with their wives and children and a huge bonus… the spoils of battle, gold, silver, jewels, food, and livestock. You could say they had a military success. They are about to find out that their battle was not over. A battle among themselves is about to brew! They are about to undergo the strains of success and the vices of victory.
