Luke 24:1-12

One of the favorite statements that I enjoyed from the old Gomer Pyle show was the statement that Gomer would make sometimes to Sergeant Carter. he would say, “Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!”

In our story today, we find the women coming to the tomb of Jesus, early Sunday morning. When they arrived, they found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. When I read this, I thought of Gomer’s words, “Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!”

This is a great passage because it speaks of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. We serve a risen, living savior!
